Whats NEWt?!
During spring break we decided to allow the kids to have some pets. They didnt want fish because they were too boring. We would love a puppy but at this time were just not ready for such a thing. so as we were browsing the pet store one afternoon we discoved these funny looking little things, called fire belly newts. They are perfect. quiet and not stinky, they dont bite. they dont eat much and the kids love that they can hold them. so hopefully this will be a good experiance. they already have accepted that if they die we have to flush them down the toilet. Its kind of funny how they tell everyone that.

I love the part about flushing them down the toilet if they die! So funny! We didn't have much success with pets when I was growing up. One of our pets was a gerbil called Midnight. Then it bit my youngest brother through his fingernail so we called him Nightmare. I think we were told it went to "happy hunting grounds", and many, many years later confirmed that my dad had flushed it down the toilet.
Soooo cute!! Both the look on your kids faces and the new-t pets!! :)
Nathan's expression in the top photo is pure mischief. He looks like he has some interesting plans for his new pet...
