Yesterday we drove to surrey in the snowstorm, oh great fun. we were quite late for our appointment but it was okay because the hospital staff were all late too.
they were just happy we arrive safely and we were the first patients to arrive anyways. we didnt have to wait at all!
we had a consultation with a dr. and he did an ultra sound to see if anything had changed. there was still the same amount of fluid the baby did grow a bit. its the size of a 22 week baby now. He told us also that there is only a 10% chance that it is a chromosome problem, which is quite differnt than what the dr.s had said at vancouver. they seemed quite sure that was the problem. we still dont know for sure. I had the amniosentis done. so we will find out for sure if it is a chromosome issue soon. It wasnt as scary as i though it would be. they use a very thin needle and we could watch on the ultra sound. it was kind of shocking to see the needle go into my stomach. but everything went well. there was a risk of misscarriage from the amnio so i had to take it easy yesterday. but everything feels fine. and baby is still kicking I cant imagine that there is anything wrong, this little one kicks pretty hard and often! wich is a relief for me, a nice little reminder.
Thank you everyone for all your prayers!!! they are so much appreciated! they have been a real source of comfort for me and Dan this past week. I have had moments of feeling hysterical but knowing that there are lots of people praying for us and knowing that all of this is in Gods hands helps me to feel calm.
we are still waiting for results and hoping and praying that if it is a chromosome problem its on one of those not so important ones. some things are fixable and sometimes the child will have a handycap but still have a good quality of life.
It could also be that the placenta is implanted too deep or not deep enough. that would be the best senerio right now. I will be getting ultrasounds every week now and if and when it comes time to get the baby out then thats what they will do.

this sounds like good news about the probability of a chromosomal issue -- and baby has grown a little, hooray! if it was a serious chromosomal problem, wouldn't they have seen this in the ultrasounds? often there are indicators like too big / too small brain, abnormal organ size, etc. seems like a huge conclusion to jump to based on a low amniotic fluid levels and small baby (but then, i suppose i'm no expert). i am really hoping that its a placenta problem, and really don't believe its a chromosome problem. i guess time will tell. when do you get the amnio results back? glad you're feeling well and don't have signs of a premature birth. we'll keep praying!

Wow I love hearing good news! God DOES work in mysterious ways now doesn't he? I'll keep praying though for the storm to pass and the sun to shine like it did today.
